Welcome to the 9th Day of Last Minute Christmas Gifts!  With the last post being a “bigger” project, I’m back today with another quick and easy one – Pretty Fabric Bookmarks.

When I started this series, Pam from Threading My Way, put a link in the comments to her lovely fabric bookmark tutorial! I went and checked it out and thought it would be a great one to try out and add to this series…

Now her bookmark has a pretty stitched flower on it.. but I decided to try her suggestion in the tutorial to use a patterned fabric…

I scrounged through my storage tubs and found some scraps… and in no time I had these made up:

Believe me when I say the longest part of this project is fraying the end! The rest is so quick and easy!

I did make a few changes.. I used interfacing for the first one.. then decided to skip it for the other two.. and I also top stitched…

Now I don’t read “real” books anymore.. I read ebooks.. but I have plenty of friends who still read real ones.. I pinched a few from Mum to use for these pictures..

Which made me think I should read this series again by Beverly Lewis…

Might have to wait until I come back to Oz next July, because I am running out of time this visit…

I know I’ll be making more of these, and I also want to try the stitched flower one day as well, rather than just using feature fabric…

Oh, you can also use special fabric for your friends – cute cat fabric for a cat lover… or like the one above – buttons for someone who loves to sew…
