I’ve just come back from a lovely long weekend away with DH and Sylvie, camping…
I was going to stay for the week, but my parents need help with appointments so I’ve come back home on my own… I might rejoin them later in the week…

We had very typical Victorian weather… one minute the sun was shining, the next we were getting storm warnings and rain was pouring down…

I was glad we weren’t in a tent!
Every morning I started my day with a lovely cuppa… and some crochet…

I worked on a few different projects… Sylvie helped with my granny squares…

Although “helpful” might not be the right adjective to use…

She gets an “A” for effort at least!!
I decided to make a quick doily to match the giant granny square blanket I am making for the back porch, following Lori Holt’s YouTube tutorial:

Thankfully, Sylvie was busy keeping my feet warm… and not helping me…
She did come out for a run when I photographed the finished doily outside:

I used the cheap Marvel yarn from Spotlight, it doesn’t look as nice as cotton, but it will look fine with a pot plant on top of it on my back veranda…

The best thing about going away camping is that I can’t look around me and see 100 things that need doing.. like washing, cleaning, etc. DH cooks, and I do the dishes.. other than that it is just a wonderful time of relaxing!
Coming home today, I’ve already done two loads of washing, a bunch of tidying, weeding out in the garden… etc, etc… Let’s see if I decide to go back again after the appointments with my parents – or if I succomb to staying home to do all the other things that need doing!!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and have a lovely week ahead planned!

Tried Crochet once didn’t turn out well yours is gorgeous love the colors
It looks like you had a nice and peaceful time camping even though it was cut short. I love the colors you chose for the doily and afgan.
What a pretty view you had! Hope you get to rejoin DH and Sylvie. Love the photo of Sylvie giving you a “kiss’. 🙂
Your plant doily is beautiful!
What a serene location for camping. The doily is very pretty.
Yes, it is relaxing getting away for a while and not having the responsibilities at home….. I hope you went back!!

Looks like a wonderful place to relax and unwind – and I do hope you go back and let the chores wait for a later date. They’ll always be there waiting, but a time of relaxation is precious.
