I’ve been a busy bee…. sewing up blocks… my design wall is starting to fill up!

I made Sherri’s first block:

I am using the Mercantile collection from Lori Holt for this BOM. It is for our caravan – the curtains in the van are the same color as the little grains of wheat in the background fabric. This quilt will be for DH… I haven’t decided yet what pattern I will be using for mine…
I made my blue blocks for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge…
The Maple Leaf with this free pattern:

And the Cheshire Cat with this free pattern…

We are in the middle of another heat wave, and we are staying close to home in case we need to evacuate again… On Saturday, there was a fire right outside our town, deliberately lit. So frustrating that there are people out there who do that.
There were two small fires in the town next to us today, but they were put out quickly, thankfully…
So today was too hot to go out to the studio – but hopefully tomorrow I’ll get some more sewing done on some of the other projects on my list!

like cat sewing block best but they’re all nice
Thanks Crystal, I know we share a love of cats! xx
Love the fabrics you used in Sherri’s block! Your cat is adorable. You’ll have such pretty quilts when you are finished. 🙂
Thanks Lynda! I hope I will end up with some pretty ones! They’re fun to make as well! xx
How sweet! I love the cat especially! It reminded me of the old poem with the Calico Cat and the Ginghmam Dog called The Duel–

Oh!! What a fun poem! I’ve never heard of it before – now wouldn’t that poem make a cool quilt….!!!! xx
Isn’t it fun when the design wall begins to fill up? You’ve got some beauties showing up on your wall! Thanks for the link to Sheri’s BOM, I might join in!
I am so happy that I am finally sewing again and getting some new blocks up there! Do join in on Sheri’s BOM, there are a few of us doing it! xx
Made the first block this afternoon, after a stash dive. We’ll see if I like my fabric choices enough to stick with it!
Great blocks Joy, good idea to stay indoors. I’ve been looking at your temps and the fires around… awful

Yes it’s not great here, but so far so good.. mind you it’s not great all over Oz at the moment what with fire, floods and storms… xx
Love your blocks Joy. The cat is cute.
Thanks Jeanette – I’m looking forward to how the different colored cats will look together in a quilt! xx
Blue blocks for the win. Lookin’ good!
Thanks! I’m glad I’ve got them done, and I only had to unpick once!! Looking forward to seeing what the next color is! xx
You have great blue blocks!!!
Thank you! I think they will look better when there are other colors next to them though! xx
Pretty blue blocks, Joy. Love the fabric you have used for Sherri’s BOM.
Thanks! I am getting used to the background fabric for Sherri’s BOM, I usually go for lighter, but this one will match our van colors perfectly! xx
