Yes, more hot chocolate.. and only a little bit of crochet…
The last three days we’ve been running around Holland madly – signing rentals contract, picking up the key to DD’s room/studio, getting bedding and the essentials she needs… trying to open bank accounts, and in the midst of it all wandering around little Dutch streets and canals…
The snow has melted and the ice is starting to as well… the ducks get to swim a bit and then go rest on the ice afterwards… it’s not a sight you see everyday in the Middle East or in Oz!!
Imagine living here.. instead of on the 23rd floor in a busy city…
Thank goodness for google maps… haven’t gotten too lost yet… Today we took some time to sit down at a little cafe and recharge with some lovely hot chocolate… and I pulled out my crochet to do a few stitches…
My poor blanket hasn’t grown very much since it was out in the snow…. I have been too busy and when we got “home” at night we pretty much had a bite to eat and straight to bed…. I think I will need a holiday after all of this!
Oh, what? You thought I was on holiday???? Hmmmm……
Well, we have seen some interesting things…. like this doggie looking out at us on the street…

I think I prefer the dog looking at me….
But the best is drinking hot chocolate and watching the world go by…
We managed to get internet connected today, so hence this quick update…. now I am off to bed with an early start of more errands to run tomorrow… it is a lot of work getting settled in to a new country!
I think that you might be well qualified to help her with all of that don’t you? And no we certainly don’t see those sights her in Oz.
It’s so lovely that you are there to help with the settling in… and have a bit of fun in the cold too … and drink hot chocolate…..

Helping your daughter is important! Crocheting can be fitted in where it can! Just think of all the interesting things you are getting to see and enjoy including hot chocolate! I wish we could have spend more time in Holland on our trip. Never enough money or time! Nancy
Gosh it really is a complete change of scenery for you – but I bet your daughter is so glad you are there to help her get sorted – what a big move for her. Hope you get some more, quiet crocheting moments to help with your sanity!
Yes, I imagine it is taking a lot of time settling in. Our granddaughter is settling with us on her working holiday here & took herself off to open a bank account & hand out some CV’s & came back with some casual work at a local bakery. I also taught her to crochet last night & she picked it up very well & says she may become “hooked” (giggle). All the best for DD on her adventure. Take care.
