  1. Welcome to the One Monthly Goal! I did Patchwork Times’ monthly goals until she quit, and then I did Sew BitterSweet Designs, until she quit, and about then, along came One Monthly Goal, first on another blog and now on Elm Street Quilts. I like to have a UFO or finishing goal that I can take my time with for the month, and then point to and say, “I did this!” Days slip so quickly by! The weekly goals are to push projects along, and I’ve been doing that in this same way for 123 weeks! Before that I did it another way, but this works the best of anything I’ve ever tried. It keeps me focused on what’s next. There are a lot of good things out there, such as weekly and monthly linkies, and one of them is bound to be what clicks for each of us.

  2. Good luck with all of that, I am lucky to get one of my projects done in a year, but I do set weekly lists of what I NEED to do in my business and list quilts that I hope to get done that week. I do like a list and to see items crossed off when I do them. Love your quilt, might have to repeat that one again.

  3. That’s a pretty comprehensive list & will enjoy seeing what you get done & how you go about it. I usually write daily lists for what I need to get done around the house & hopefully do it, but that’s all. I’ll pop over to Patty’s blog to see what she’s up to with OMG. Take care & thanks for this challenge.

  4. Hi Joy,
Tweak the acronym, OMG could become One (handful of) Monthly Goals . Five digits in a handful = 5 goals for the month!
Or you could have One (handshake full of) Monthly Goals. Two hands in a handshake so 10 digits = 10 goals for the month.

  5. That’s a lot to get done… I’m sure you will get a good way through. I must admit I do like lists but I’m not so good at keeping them – except for work stuff….

  6. Thanks for the reminder to head over to Elm St. I like your goals list. I kind of have that in my *very simplistic* Bullet Journal, but need to expand and think of the month as a whole, not just dailies and weeklies.

  7. Adding binding is a great goal! Thanks for linking up with Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal and good luck with your project.

  8. Wow! That is some ambitious planning you got there. Good for you! I agree that setting goals seams to motivate me better than when I haven’t. I’ve been thinking along the same lines as you but haven’t nailed down my goals yet. Just seeing someone else set goals is always motivating!

  9. I rarely set goals other than having a general sense of what I hope to accomplish each week. If I set concrete goals I ending feeling somewhat of a failure if I don’t manage to make them. My goal, in retirement, is to enjoy the process of creating and for the most part I’m pretty happy with what I accomplish. I so admire those who are willing to put their goal lists out there and then be also willing to report on how well (or how poorly!) they do. I’ll enjoy seeing how you do with your list!
