  1. Your pan protectors are so much lovelier than the store-bought plain-Jane ones! I would love to make some too as I usually use old hot pads, but they tend to be bulky and not stay in place very well. I wonder if you could share your template? Opening the pan cabinet to see those pretties would be a real treat…and maybe encourage me to cook more too!

  2. Great idea. I bought a double lot if the protectors from Aldi when they were in stock. When they get to the stage of needing to be replaced i’ll be able to follow your idea. Hugs, xx

  3. Joy, these pan protectors are a really great idea. Even a quick plain ole circle would do the job. But, these asterisk shapes are waaay more fun! I know my pans could use some protection. Thanks for sharing this inspiration!

  4. What a great idea, and so pretty! I definitely need to make some of these for my kitchen. My husband is always sticking wads of paper towels in between our pans; this is a much better idea!

    1. Your pan protectors are awesome! So clever–and I love the batik you used. Zigzagging the edges was definitely the way to finish them. Thanks for sharing!

  7. Very inventive and practical project! Thanks for sharing. And you’re right, life is too short to spend too much time on turning things that don’t wish to be turned.

  8. This is such an amazing idea and yours with the batiks are so pretty. I wish I would have known about this years ago – before my pans were all scratched up. Thank you for the inspiration and for hopping in the Kitchen Stitchin’.

  9. Just what I needed! I am using a kitchen towel between my pans now. We got some new non stick pans a few months ago. I think your pan protectors look gorgeous, especially in batik (my favorite fabrics). Thanks so much for the template and the inspiration too.

  10. thank you for sharing and inspiring today. Oh but your protectors are cute and pretty and practical all rolled into one. I love it Thank you. And thank you for the pattern.. Will be used for sure.

  11. I had not idea they even had such a thing. No wonder my pans look like they have had such a rough life. I am definitely going to be making some of these protectors now. Maybe I will even buy some new pans to go with them. LOL!! Thanks for sharing the template for them as well. Your the best!

  12. I think your pan protectors are beautiful and definitely nicer than the store bought ones. I’d never seen anything like these, but it is really a great idea. Thank you for sharing!

  13. I have some very old China that has some foam type protectors between them. You have inspired me to make some cloth protectors to go between the plates and bowls in a beautiful matching rose pattern. I was never happy with the foam discs that yellowed and deteriorated. Your submission is good for anything that needs protection- not just pans. And the simple starfish or flower design is better protection. Zigzag around the stitching is perfect.

  14. Great idea Joy, thanks for the template. I bought some years ago made out of silicone or something like that. I also have to stack my pans. Thanks again for the template!

  15. The template has just flown out of my printer on it’s way to the sewing room. This is a fabulous idea. Too late for some of my copper chef pans but could help others. Also a great gift idea. Thank you.

  16. What a clever project, I always worry about my pans scratching each other, so need to make some of these. Thank you for the pattern.

  17. I ADORE YOUR PROJECTS!! I never thought of making pan protectors. Shamefully, we just use paper towels and that’s embarrassing for a sewists!! Well, it’s happening next…I’m going to use your template and make some myself. When you said your project is more simple than other ones, well…simple wins the prize!!!! I’m making some of these for my mom as well. I would even try for mother’s day if I can…but my babylock just broke and needs repair. Until the baby is back, I’m going to have to send mom some flowers or chocolate or something. Alas, she’s still getting pot protectors as soon as I can make them!!!

  18. Great idea–and thanks for working the bugs out so we don’t have to! lol
My DH will love these–I toss the frying pans in willy-nilly and it drives him crazy!
    Thanks!

  19. That was a great idea. I hadn’t even thought to make those. I could use some too. I just use paper towels right now. Thanks so much for offering a template.

  20. OMG, Joy!!! This is SEW perfect!! My paper plate system is even uglier than your old pan protectors and that need to be replaced. Thank you for including a template download in your post!
