Here’s our next step in the Scrappy Christmas Mystery QAL!

Today we are going to be working with the blocks we made in Step 2!

What you need for the Scrappy Christmas Mystery QAL Part 3

The EIGHT 9 patches from Step 2

EIGHT 6 1/2″ squares of your choice of background fabric (mine is white)

SCRAPPY CHRISTMAS MYSTERY QAL Part 3 ~ STEP 1

Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on the back of your 9 patches:

Then draw ANOTHER diagonal line 1/2″ away from the previous one:

Place a 9 patch right sides together with a 6 1/2″ background square:

PIn and sew along BOTH lines.

Cut between the two lines to make two half square triangles

Take the bigger half square triangle, and press it open.

Set the SMALLER one aside, we will use that for a different project.

Do the above steps with all of the 9 patches and background squares to make EIGHT half square triangle blocks:

And that is it for part 3!

In other news….

Today was moving day! Even though our state is in lock down, the removalists were still able to come and move all the big items. There are still some odds and ends at the old house, but most of it is here now….. it is so lovely to be home!
