It’s 2023……!

Did you stay up for the fireworks? I did not… I was boring and went to bed… I’ll blame it on still getting over covid š
Goodbye 2022
I’m not sorry to say goodbye to 2022… it was a tough one. We had three funerals… and one wedding… not quite like the movie. We had floods, sickness, many trips to emergency and hospital….
But it was not all bad… I had a wonderful trip to see family in Europe, and started lots of lovely new projects… that now need finishing before they turn into UFOs š
I really need to start appliqueing the chookies:
I think they will be on my to do list for this month.
I really want to get that quilt done… and the kitchen one… and the churn dashes… oh dear!!!! I need to get busy!!!
I haven’t been out to the studio since I got covid, haven’t felt up to it, and it’s been so warm. But yesterday I started to feel more human even though my cough is still there and my nose won’t stop running…
So maybe later today I’ll get out and do a bit of sewing.
Hello 2023
I’m really excited about this year! A new year, lots of plans, hopefully less funerals and sickness… more sewing and stitching!
- I have chosen a word for the year and everything I do will be focused around that…. More of that in another post. A challenge will be attached to that and you can join in with me if you like š
- I’ve got a new BOM planned for you, and some other stitching goodies. The new BOM will start in the middle of Feb.
- Later in January we will start a new Mystery Stitchalong – a Winter one, to match the Autumn one š

Glad you are feeling at least a little better. We did not stay up for fireworks. Our little town has banned fireworks, but someone still sets them off, so we were awake for midnight anyway! Happy new year Joy!

Here’s hoping 2023 will prove to be a better one for you. Like you, we were in bed long before the midnight hour although we did manage to stay awake long enough to wish each other a happy new year.
