Just a bit of this and that!
Last Week’s This and That
Another week that just disappeared… I must say that I much prefer disappearing quilt blocks rather than disappearing weeks………… sigh!!
Sleep Study Results
I got my sleep study results, and I have mild sleep apnea. Not bad enough to get a cpap machine, so that is good. I need to lose more weight and exercise more 🙂 Well, that is nothing new… guess I’d better add it to my weekly to-dos!!
In the Yarn Basket
I did a quite a bit of crochet last week – I even bought some more yarn:

I only went into Spotlight to buy one ball… but then I saw this new brand and they are only $2 each! So quite a few more ended up in my shopping basket!!
I also got distracted from making cat blankets to making a nice warm coat for Sylvie:

I took her to the groomer you see, and she got a very short summer cut.. and the first night at home she was cuddling up shivering… her other pj’s were too small, so I had to get working….
It’s not perfect, and I’m not too sure what Sylvie thinks of it…..

It is warm, though!!
Some Shopping
No, I didn’t buy fabric… but I did go to our local op shop looking for some books to read… they were all 50c each, OR… the kind gentlemen informed me that I could stuff as many as I could in a shopping bag for $5… which I did… this is what I got:

A total of 42 books!! Which makes them about 12c each…. I was quite pleased! Notice there are a couple of quilting ones there by Jennifer Chaverini… I think I will start them first!
In the Sewing Room
I managed a little bit of time in the sewing room and made the third Vintage Christmas block for February:`

Now to get block 4 done and then I will be caught up for February and will need to start on March!!
These blocks are actually quite fun to make – I feel like I am getting the hang of the small pieces, phew! It is going to be such a fun quilt!
How did my to-do list go last week? Well, here it is….

This Week’s This and That
I’m taking some time off from work this week. I’ve been so tired, and need to catch up on some things. I also have a lot of appointments.. so even though I am taking time off work, I am still going to be busy.
Here’s what I am hoping to achieve:

You can find the above printable (with various options) in the freebies and members areas.
Featured This Week
Linda made this sweet quilt for her great-great-nephew!

As well as making an amazing strings quilt, Melva worked on this cute card with embroidery:

Jocelyn has been busy making these super sweet blue yoyos:

And Marsha has also been doing hand sewing, making these pretty stars:

Well that is it for this week… hope you all have a lovely week!

Glad it is “only” mild sleep apnea. My husband was required to use the awful CPAP before he could be eligible for the Inspire implant, which he got last year. It has made a big difference for him. Your vintage Christmas block is so pretty!
My DH is a sleep apnea victim too – his was the worst case they’d ever seen (scared the tech person because they were sure he’d died!). He lost quite a bit of weight and now doesn’t need the machine anymore. So weight lose DOES help.
Sylvie’s sweater is sweet. Good on you. I hope you enjoy the Elm Creek Quilts books. I own the whole set and reread them often.
Sylvie is adorable and her sweater is so cute! Your block is beautiful. I’m not fun of small pieces, but this is really cute. Thanks for joining us at Monday Musings! Have a great week.
