Welcome to Day 4 of the 2025 Virtual Christmas Cookie Exchange Blog Hop!

I must admit that this has always been my favorite blog hop of the year, and I am so glad Carol is hosting it again this year!
I’m getting there with my decorating…
I actually have the ornaments on the tree this year:

Although you may notice there aren’t many on the bottom branches… no, I don’t have any little grandkids that may pull them off… but I do have a Loki:

I am still getting my Christmas Lego Village up…. slow and steady, right?!
I am also making sure the bottom shelf is Loki compliant:

I mean, he tries to look innocent, but his front right paw has a habit of trying to get on the shelf above and swatting some Lego down to play with….
Olaf has joined Elsa from behind the doors on the Advent calendar…

And cookies have been made!

For today’s blog hop, I made my favorite Melting Moments recipe to make some sweet Christmas Trees and Wreaths…

Here is the recipe:

Melting Moments
Ingredients
- 360 g Butter softened
- 2/3 cup icing sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla essence
- 2/3 cup cornflour
- 2 cups plain flour
Instructions
- Mix all ingredients together.
- Use cookie press to make cookies, or roll the dough out and use cookie cutters.
- Fill the middle of each cookie with a little bit of strawberry jam.
- Bake in 180C oven for approx 10 min.
I hope you are enjoying this blog hop as much as I am! Please be sure to visit everyone else – they’ve all been working hard to make this hop fun! You can find the main list of participants HERE.
Here are the other bloggers who are posting today:
Thank you, Carol, for hosting again this year!
Oh, and a bit of fun news… I posted my first video on YouTube this week... part of it is me sewing my Christmas Table topper… I show how I nest my seams… and I show my kitchen sewing corner… and if you watch until the end, you will see some Sylvie cuteness!

Those cookies look sew good! Might have to dig out my cookie press! I am impressed with your Lego village–I didn’t know there was such a thing. One of my daughters might like such a village. Now I have an idea for a present. Thanks for sharing!
What a sweet corner for your pretty Christmas tree. Those cookies are right up my alley – I love the texture of them – yum! LOVED your YouTube video – from Sylvie’s cute little swishing hiney to being mesmerized by your chain sewing. Nicely done, and I look forward to more.
I remember making those cookies with my mom at the holidays. They were always a favorite. Loved seeing your Lego Christmas. I had no idea they had so many different sets. While my boys outgrew their Legos, we have pulled out the tubs of them for the grandkids to enjoy now. They really are timeless! Wishing you a wonderful holiday season.
I will try the cookie recipe! The ‘houses’ on your shelves are so very pretty!
You definitely bring “Joy” to my quilting life with all your fun stories and creations. Thank you for that! I got a new dog recently and have had to put things up high. I found him chewing on the cord to the Christmas tree, so it went up high right away. I had no idea there are Lego Christmas houses…fun! The cookies look so delicious and bring back memories of my childhood. Thank you!
The cookies look delicious, thanks so much for sharing!
Congrats on your video post!! That’s exciting!! I love how Loki is “helping” you to manage the tree!! Aren’t animals just so delightful and diabolical sometimes too!!? Your cookies look professionally made!! I will need to keep this recipe for one day when I want to try that polished look. Thanks so much for sharing the smiles and goodies today!
We had a cat that would insist on climbing up the centre of the tree and never, in all the years we had her, did she knock a single ornament off or (worse) knock the tree over.
Our little granddaughter would love that Frozen-themed advent…wonder if her parents got it for her.
Loki is such a sweet kitty. Thanks so much for the recipe, I do love butter cookies.
Those cookies look wonderful, Joy! Thanks for the recipe. Butter cookies are one of my faves! Have fun with your Legos!
Thanks for sharing and have a very merry (Loki-compliant) Christmas!
Beautiful cookies! They are the best tasting cookies in the world and yours look fabulous. Keep Loki away cuz they look just right now and not after he’d played with them! LOL Have a wonderful holiday – you have a good start with the ornaments on the tree.
Your tree and ornaments are perfect. Now, the other purrfect thing is Loki and her ability to pretend to be a part of the Christmas Lego Village. Those cookies look yummy! Thanks for sharing all these fun things in this hop!
