I’m sitting here at my computer in my new sewing/art/stitching/work area… what shall we call it? Studio, I think…. since the sewing room is actually a little room to the left of me…
My view through the very dirty glass sliding doors is of Rose Cottage, where I can keep an eye on the comings and goings of those who live and visit there….

To the right of me is a couch squished in the corner of the studio, with a grumpy Sylvie on it… grumpy because I am sitting at the computer and not on the couch giving her cuddles…

And behind me, Loki has decided to sit in a paper bag under my art desk…. because he loves paper bags… (his speciality is destroying them)…

On to my new sewing room…. behind and to the left is the entry to my little room:

As you walk in on the left, I’ve hung some of my rulers on the wall next to the design wall….

There is a rolled up quilt there, as you can see, it was at my parents’ old house, but they don’t have space for it in Rose Cottage.. I am going to see if I can find a spot for it here in our house…
DH moved one of my design walls in here, and I’m very happy with it…

I have more rulers up on the wall to the right of it. One day, I hope to have some new blocks to add to the cats and leaves – I am so behind with these RSC blocks!!
Moving around the room, we have Nina and my sewing table near the window – great for light coming in….

and opposite the sewing desk:

I still need to sort things out, but I am getting there… You can see my nice view of Rose Cottage from there too…
Here we are stepping into my new studio area with my art desk there on the right… (DH is messing around with the internet at the moment, as you can see by the wire hanging down from the ceiling!)…

And my little corner for the computer and printer…

Under all the junk on the left of the table is my cutting board, where one day I shall be able to cut fabric… hopefully!
I have a small stash of fabric in this cupboard behind the glass doors:

The rest is scattered around other areas of the house and the old studio…
Now I can’t remember if I told you WHY I have a new sewing room and studio….
Well… DH and I decided it would make more sense for me to have most of my stuff inside, where I can keep an eye on everything, rather than in the studio, where I can’t see what is going on outside… so we have moved his office (he works from home) into half of my old studio… Emmie G (my longarm) is still in the other half, but he actually has more space than he used to have, and fewer distractions!
So, although it has been a hassle to move things around, and things still aren’t fully where they should be, it is a good change, I think.
Now to actually do some sewing!!!!
Stay tuned!

How fantastic Joy! I love your cupboard and your view outside, and the fact you have a sofa and a place for everything is wonderful. It is a lovely space, and so nice that your husband benefits too.
