  1. I will be interested in reading the responses from everyone about organizing these. Mine are much like yours, only mine are in a plastic shoebox. Sometimes they manage to get tangled and it’s such a chore to get them straightened out.

  2. I have my pearl threads in little drawers. My DH found a small wooden toolbox cabinet and a a lot of my threads are in that. It has about 8 drawers in it

  3. I only have a few of balls of perle cotton & they are thrown in a box. :). My little Valdani threads which are small balls are stored in the same containers i use for my DMC threads. Hugs, xx

  4. Thanks for the virtual “pat on the back”???…I will send some pictures and maybe do a blog post – in due course!
    I don’t have as many of these…but I have an idea or two . . .
To stop them unraveling and getting tangled…find some thin clear vinyl…cut it into strips about 1″ wide – or what ever suits your threads and then wrap it around each ball until you have an overlap of an inch or two…the vinyl will /should stick to itself. I have previously bought a roll of this sort of stuff but it is no longer available in AU… so I will be making my own – I do this for my machine embroidery threads which are very prone to unraveling.
For storage I would look – as you said – for thin drawers or thin plastic containers…if you were back in AU I would suggest the “cheap” shops – I buy a brand called Quadrant and they are available in a few sizes…or maybe a cutlery box would work if they are only small balls….again I would be sorting by colour.
    Happy organising!

  5. Not having too many Perle cottons, I don’t have a system set up, but using a Susan’s clear vinyl idea to keep them from unwinding and then putting them on a hanging dowel, or stand-up paper towel holder could work.

Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a comment! I will reply via email as soon as I can!
