In the Sewing Room
I’ve been sewing, but most of it I can’t show you yet.. you see, I am trying to get ahead with some things before I go on holidays in October… I’ll tell you more about where I’m going next week, but for now I am trying to get 101 things finished before I leave…
What I can show you…. I finished the “Mama’s Apron” block:
Isn’t it cute? I think Lori Holt is one talented lady to be able to design these cool blocks!
I was on the last step of finishing the “Grace” Beautiful Day blocks, when I discovered this:
Can you see, the strip is exactly 1/2″ too short…. I went back to the pattern and sure enough – I cut the white rectangles 6″ instead of 6 1/2″. I must have been distracted by Judy or Raylene, or maybe it was the spider?! 🙂
Other than that, I do have some churn dash progress to share I think…
I now have too many Barn Dance blocks to fit on my design wall:
I am so happy all those bits of furniture in front of that design wall are on wheels, because I can easily move them out of the way to add more blocks…
I still have more blocks though, that I made since that last photo… will have to do another pic next week… I am making good progress though!
And that is it for today…
I’m not making a to do list this week, other than a looooong scribbled down one in my planner… and same goes for the menu plan. I am going to wing it…. I’ll be back later in the week though, with some more happenings…

I just love that apron block! And the colors you use on the barn dance blocks are so cheery.
The apron block is such a fun one! Well done on your pile of churn dashes – it’s going to be a very pretty quilt.
I completely understand the angst of the strips cut too short! lol The Barn Dance quilt is going to be a stunner–great job!

That apron block is very cute! Reminds me of my grandma’s (and my mother) who wore aprons all the time. My grandma’s preferred the bib type whereas my mom just work the ’round the waist’ version. I, on the other hand, have never used an apron.
Sorry, we are not taking the blame for your cutting error Joy!! Hope you had enough fabric to cut more?

You are getting along fine with all your different projects & I invariably wing it lately, especially with our unpredicable weather.
