It’s a public holiday today, celebrating DS’s…. and the Queen’s, birthday 🙂 I almost forgot it was time for a Monday This and That post!
Weekend Happenings
As I said in the last post, I got distracted by some squirrels… I played around with scraps and came up with the churn dash block I want to make:
I do believe I forgot to tell you about my mother’s day present from last month…. I ordered myself this:
It’s the fat quarter set of Beautiful Day (affiliate link) to make the Beautiful Day Mystery Quilt and also the same fabric is used for the Fat Quarter Shop’s Heartfelt SAL (aff link).
I will attempt to make both quilts from it, and if I run out, will buy some more.
So I finally started that on the weekend:
Monday Menu Plan:
Last week I didn’t have enough leftovers, the portions seemed to be smaller and/or we ate more 🙂 So I bought a BBQ pack and cooked that up on the weekend.
The pickled lamb, for those who were wondering, was ok…. I think we all decided it might have been better left as a roast leg 🙂 But it did give me a hankering for silverside (corned beef), so that has gone on the menu this week!
Freshwater Basa was on special, so I got some of that. I’m finding it a challenge to find cheap meat… well, cheap anything really! All the prices have gone up so much.
Monday – DS’s Birthday – Steak, potatoes & corn
Tuesday – Fish
Wednesday – Roast :Pork
Thursday – Silverside
Friday – Leftovers
Saturday – DD’s birthday – takeaway
Sunday – Pot Roast
This Week’s This and That
I’ve got a few appointments in town this week – vet and other. I try not to go into town too often because fuel prices are crazy. One of those days while I am in town I will probably drop in to Spotlight for some thread for a project I have coming up… more on that another day. Other than that, I hope to spend as much time in the sewing room as possible!
I’ve decided to post my “To Do’s” tomorrow instead of on a Monday because the post gets too long… so I’ll be back tomorrow for that!
