I am feeling particularly pleased with myself today! Why, you might ask? Well, because for the first time in many years, I have not only managed to actually start the Stay at Home Round Robin, but I have made it to round 1!!!!
Each year I think – ooooh I want to join in!!! And each year I seem to get distracted, and before I know it, I am way behind and give up..
This year… well.. I am doing it!!
A few days ago, I made the center block:

My initial plan was to make a sawtooth star, but then I saw the first block by Sherri for her BOM, and I liked how she added to the sawtooth star, and decided to make that my center.
So that was done, and I was ready for the next step. Brenda had the prompt for Round #1, and it was the Hourglass block. After a lot of thought, trial, error, and re-choosing fabric, I came up with this:

I am using fabric from Lori Holt’s Prairie fabric line.. It’s so pretty.
I’m looking forward to round #2!!
You can find all the info for this fun sewalong here.
It’s not too late to join in…. or have you already joined in?

Quilt is coming along nicely
Getting there…!! xx
Pretty fabrics!
Thanks, I love Lori Holt fabric! xx
What a pretty beginning to your SAHRR!!!
Thank you! I’m just glad I’ve started!! xx
Love that center block! I plan to finally make my Sherri block today, it is a pretty pattern. Love what you did with your hourglass units, they look perfect!
I am planning to make mine today too… fabric cut out already so shouldn’t take long! I’m happy in the end with the border 1 🙂 xx
A lovely start, Joy I only got halfway through last year’s SAHRR so need to focus on that – and not be distracted by a 2026 version!
Well you got further than me last year! Good idea to finish it off first 🙂 xx
I’m so delighted you are sewing along with us this year! And you are off to a great start! The center block and first border are so pretty!
Thank you! I’m so glad to be joining in! xx
Love your center and your hourglass blocks! Hooray for joining in…I am off to make mine for hosting this week! I am pretty excited about this years project, we will see if that holds. Sometimes I am a bit ahead, maybe our snowstorm this weekend will help with that!
Thanks! Can’t wait to see your prompt! Can you please send some snow our way? It’s way too hot here… xx
VERY pretty! I love the fabric line you are using too. So glad you are jumping in and sharing your “joy”. Stay warm, and see you next week!
Thank you! It’s summer here so I am trying to stay cool, lol! Playing with pretty fabric helps 🙂 xx
What a beautiful start. I will watch as this grows and enjoy it vicariously. I have too many projects going right now to join in.
Thanks Ginny! You are so good not to be starting something new!! xx
I think the idea of a simple border with the hourglass blocks serving as cornerstones is a perfect frame for Sherri’s design in your center block. The colors are perfectly chosen and this is starting off with a bang! Great work on your block and borders.
Thank you! I had a few doubts when I started but am happy with it turned out! xx
Your SAHRR looks beautiful so far.
Thank you! I’m happy so far! xx
This is looking great 🙂
Thanks! Can’t wait for the next prompt! xx

Thank you! I’m so glad to be joining in finally!! xx
