Rose Cottage is done!!!! And my parents have moved in!! It is very exciting, although I think we are all quite exhausted!
We started this journey last August – discussing the next steps for my parents, looking into builders, planning what to do…. eight months later, they are here, and now we will be going into the next stage – finding new routines, and settling in.

Rose Cottage does not actually look like a cottage from the outside… and there are no roses yet… but it is cozy on the inside, and we will plant roses this winter… it is going to be lovely!
For now, Dad bought some potted color to plant in the white pots… we will get them planted this week….

Inside, we are still hanging things on the walls, and we also need to wait a little longer to get curtains. We have some temporary curtains hanging up – they don’t look great, but they do stop the bright/hot sun coming in at least…
This week, the weather has changed, and winter is telling us it’s on its way… so the heater is on and makes it even cozier!

In Other News…
In an attempt to do something creative, I have picked up an old hobby…. paper and paint…

I needed desperately to do something creative that I didn’t have to think about…. so I started slopping paint on paper… I am not calling it art, it is more reminiscent of being back in kindergarten, lol!
But I have been enjoying it – not thinking, just putting colors down, with no aim or purpose…

Loki is enjoying it too… so far I have managed to keep him out of the actual paint, but he does particularly enjoy pulling the paint brushes out of the cup and leaving them around the house for me to find…
Between painting and many cups of tea, I have found a bit of daily relaxation. So far I have managed not to put the brushes in my tea or drink the paint water…

I have done a bit of mindless sewing in my new sewing area which I will tell you about another day because it is bedtime….. but I really wanted to get a post up today to give you a long overdue update!
I hope you are all well and till next time…

A little to soon to plant flowers isn’t it the flowers are pretty
A little mindless stitching/painting sounds like perfection to me. Those color washes are a perfect backdrop for sayings, scripture, or simple line images. Enjoy!
