It is with great relief that I can confirm that I do indeed still know how to sew… phew!
I started with the leaves since I had them all cut up and laid out nicely… I must say being three months behind was actually kind of handy – it was quick to chain sew these together!

A little way into sewing the blocks, Nina (my sewing machine) started complaining… she does that by making clunking noises…
I opened her up, and sure enough, she was desperately in need of some TLC:

I bought this brush set last year from the Fat Quarter Shop:
It has two different types of brushes in it:
They work really well, you can see that they have been well used – they used to have white bristles! One is a soft one and the other is harder, so they each serve a purpose in cleaning.
I gave Nina a good clean and oil, and when I started sewing again, she was purring happily!
After the leaves were done, I got stuck into the cats…

This took a bit more thought because the pattern is quite confusing. I decided to cut all the background fabric out for the rest of the blocks while I was at it, so that I can eliminate some of that confusion for the rest of the year. I put them in labeled zippy bags:

I did more chain sewing and only made a few mistakes… so I was quite happy… Sylvie helped:

In no time, we had made three more cats to join the first two:

Here are all the blocks so far on the design wall…

Now that I have caught up with them, I need to have a look at my list to see what else I’m behind on….

Like all your blocks and patterns the colors are Springy
