My World Watercolor Month journey continues, hosted by Emma, here on YouTube….
I shared my first 10 days of paintings here, so you can check that out if you like… Today I’ll be sharing the next 10 days…
Day 11
For Day 11, we did some color theory and made color palettes… I am not good at colors at all, not even in my quilting… but I followed Emma’s instructions, made some color palettes, and then did a practice page on the right on which I made many mistakes… sigh…
Days 12 & 13
On Day 12 we did some more florals…. and on Day 13 an ice cream… which turned out better than I expected!
Day 14
Day 14 we worked on clouds…. I am quite happy with the clouds on the top left, not so much on the bottom… and the other page… well, it is ok I guess….
Day 15
On Day 15, we did two pages – the page on the left was wet on wet, just having fun… dropping color and water. Then on the right we did a beach/sea scene with a few different methods, including drops of water on the water near the sand to simulate sea foam… I think my blue paint was a bit too dry so it didn’t quite work out….
Days 16 & 17
Day 16 was fun, but I didn’t quite have the right paint color for the sky – it was meant to be nighttime so it should have been much darker. Same with the grass. There was a lesson later in the week that shows how to make colors darker, but I hadn’t seen that one yet… the fireflies in the grass and sky probably would look better with the darker colors. I’ll have to try that one again…
Day 17 was trees… and apart from a few mistakes, I am not too unhappy with it…

He has decided it is fun to steal my paintbrushes… naughty boy!
Days 18, 19 and 20
More trees on Day 18, this time with shading… possibly a bit better… other than that random circle of paint above the yellow tree – a UFO perhaps?
Day 19 we did color mixing, making shadow colors, and then on Day 20 we used those techniques to paint a beach ball. It also turned out better than I thought it would.
It’s funny, every time I see the YouTube thumbnail of what we are going to make in the tutorial, I think – “Oh, that is way too hard! I can’t do that!!!!”
But then I follow Emma’s steps, and it turns out better than I expected it to….
Looking ahead (because yes, I am behind), I am very scared of the duck:
The duck may well be my downfall….. and possibly the banana before that…. oof, stop me before I have a panic attack!!!!
I am still enjoying it though. I have been making myself breathe…. watch the video from start to finish so that I know what I am in for… tell myself – oh, I can do that!….. and then watch it again while I’m painting….

it looks to me like you are doing really well. Lovely skies, trees, flowers, etc. All the lessons look like you did better than average and most are very impressive.
